Last couple of days a Argentinian Submarine has been in the news since it has been lost. Obviously I have had an eye on the whole story since the coverage started, didn't really think too much about it until I watched a Dabhoo vid just now, certain details in this "presentation" dropped a penny, let me share it with Ye.
So, the sub was lost and the following happened.
The US says an object its navy detected near to where an Argentinian submarine sent its last signal is not the missing vessel.
A P-8A Poseidon plane made the discovery but analysis later ruled the object out as being the ARA San Juan, said the American embassy.
Some 44 people are on board the missing sub and the search is in a "critical phase" as the crew's oxygen supply could be running low.
Dozens of planes and boats are searching for the ARA San Juan, which has been missing in the South Atlantic since 15 November.
But the submarine has only seven days of oxygen and, if it has sunk or been unable to surface since it was last heard from,
then it could be using the last of its supply.

After a few days of good weather, searchers - including 30 boats and planes and personnel from the US, UK, Chile and Brazil - were expecting deteriorating conditions from Thursday.

That's the story at the start, but what do we know about this sub and what happened since?
Dabhoo mentioned that the Sub had been off the coast of the US for a while, now think about that, he also mentioned it brought forth speculation about why it was there, perhaps cutting cables? (I am trying to find the article on that fact, so please if you find it post it here).
So, let's take a step back eh, why would a Sub, which is basically a Nautical Spy Craft, be off the coast of the US? Not to feck around with the US, trust me, so what does the US have that the Argentinians have less of?
Technology!
So why would the US share it's covert sub tech with the Argentinians?
This is why...
So, a headline from 2015, 2 almost 2.5 years ago.
Now, let's look at some recent headlines:
What does it mean? It simply means that the N-Koreans are placing their subs on tactical locations, see them as areas of operation (Ops), so when we look at the map of the World, we notice something interesting...
If you want to have "Kamikaze" units you also have to make sure you hit your enemies from various positions in order to ensure mass destruction and as a result confuse your Foe...
So what happened on the 15th (already)?
There was a hydro-acoustic anomaly, iow a huge freaking explosion.
My two cents, it has been sunk by at least one Northern Korean Sub. The effort made by the US and Britain is not for the sake of the crew, it's to get their hands back on their "Enigma" tech. Imagine what would happen if these Northern Koreans get their hands on probably remnants of that tech.

An unusual sound detected around the time that an Argentine navy submarine sent its last signal before going missing last week was "consistent with an explosion.
